Carolyn and Kent Kolan are long term residents of Mountain Green. They built their home in Monte Verde in 1971.  Carolyn is originally from Heber City and graduated from Wasatch High School.  Kent was born and raised in Lehi and graduated from Lehi High School.  They met attending a junior college in Provo, now known as Utah Valley University.  “We didn’t really like each other when we first met, but with a lot of pressure from a mutual friend, we started dating the fall of 1965,” Carolyn said.  Those dates resulted in their marriage September 1966.

Carolyn and Kent Kolan are long term residents of Mountain Green.

Heidi Ann Benson and Macy Dee Butterfield have chosen Aug. 22, 2012 to begin their new lives together. They will be married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Heidi is the daughter of Vern and Diane Benson. She graduated from Morgan High School and Seminary. She is studying nursing at Utah Valley University.

Josh Wilson from Morgan, who is the son of Kelly and Lisa Wilson and a graduate of Morgan High School is on the wrestling team at Utah Valley University. Wilson has been wrestling for over 12 years and recently ranked 8th in the Nation.

Surrounded by friends, family, coaches and teammates Bailey Farris signed her National Letter of Intent to play volleyball for Division I volleyball powerhouse Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. Farris received a full ride athletic scholarship and will begin her college  career next fall as an outside hitter for the Wolverines. Farris was courted by several instate colleges including Utah State and University of Utah but says that her decision was pretty easy. She has great respect for the coaching staff and she has watched them (UVU) dominate college volleyball in the state of Utah for the last several years. Additionally, Farris feels right at home on the UVU courts after being a part of the Morgan Trojans for back to back state championships there.

After four matches to prep them for the State Tournament, the Lady Trojans are headed to Utah Valley University.

Tuesday night, October 19, the team traveled to Judge Memorial to battle the Bulldogs.  Both the Sophomore and J.V. teams had fairly easy wins and the Varsity finished the trilogy with scores of 25-16, 25-15, and 25-15.
