The Morgan Company of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers are volunteering to pay the $30 entrance fee for any local young women interested in participating in The Days of ’47 Royalty Pageant held April 10 to 12.

November found local Daughters of Utah Pioneers camps holding monthly meetings around the valley.  Morgan Company DUP was established in April of 1918, and has now grown to include six camps, namely: Hardscrabble, Mt. Joy, Mountain View, Peterson Creek, South Morgan and Weber River.  In the beginning, Porterville Camp (the first camp organized) and Peterson Camp were part of the company but have since either been combined with other camps or otherwise dissembled.

Golden Spike National Historic Site’s Annual Winter Steam Festival will be held Friday December 28th through Sunday December 30th. One of the site’s two 1860’s replica steam locomotives will arrive at the Last Spike Site at approximately 10:00 am and will be on display until 4:30 pm.

The annual opening social for the Daughters of Utah Pioneers (DUP) was held on September 11, 2012.  The social was held at the DUP Museum where the theme, “Preserve the past – strengthen the future” was announced as the theme for 2012-13.

In the heart of Morgan City is a historical treasure.  The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers operate a Museum filled with Morgan’s history.

During the summer months the museum is open on Saturdays for the general public.  Outside of this time the museum may be viewed by appoint.
