On Sept. 24, the Morgan High School volleyball team set off for an exciting trip playing the sport they love.  As in years past, MHS volleyball competed at the Beach City Invitational along with 48 other highly competitive teams from California and Arizona.  Morgan was the only team from Utah to compete in the five-day event held in sunny California- the mecca of volleyball.

After starting the season on a five-game losing streak, the Trojan basketball team have found their way as they placed second place in the Riverton Holiday Tournament held at Riverton High School.

Breanna M. Hurlbut grew up in western Oklahoma and moved to Utah in July 2009, prior to her eighth grade year. It was during that year that she was introduced to volleyball.  In 2011, she and her family moved to Morgan, where she made the high school volleyball team. She now loves the game, her team and her coaches! A three-sport athlete, Brea also loves basketball and track, and will seek to give 100 percent into being an integral part of her teams’ competing for state titles this year.

The Morgan County Council has made moves to have the Utah State Second District Court take over funding and administration of its Morgan County location.  Now, the county will not have to pay for an employee to function as the Second District Court clerk in the county clerk’s office.

The synergy of this year’s Morgan High School boys basketball team was undeniable. With one common goal in mind, they were impossible to stop. They are the well deserved 2013 3A State Champions.
