It is exciting to start our fifth year at Mountain Green elementary school.  As you can tell from all of the new homes being built, our school is growing.  This year at Mountain Green Elementary, we will be having our teacher professional training days on the same day of the week as the rest of the district.  Therefore, early out day will be on Wednesdays at 1:15 p.m.   We will be starting each day at 8:30 a.m., which is five minutes earlier this year. The normal time for school ending has not changed, ending time is at 3:20 p.m.

We would like family and friends to join us in a open house to celebrate  Mary Ellen Laughter’s 80th birthday. Remember it’s not the years in our life, but the life in our years.

BAGHDAD, Iraq—It’s not every day family members deploy together to Iraq.  It’s not every day family members get to see each other while deployed together in Iraq. And it’s not every day an uncle gets to extend his nephew into the Army while deployed together in Iraq.

Morgan Elementary held its first ever Grandparent’s Day. Grandparents from all over came to enjoy lunch, have their pictures taken and just spend time with their grandchildren. If you were to walk into the lunch room during this time, you would see nothing but smiles from ear to ear! It was an enjoyable day for everyone. Thanks “Grandparents” for spending the day with us!

I predict Morgan Boys will beat Delta High Rabbits on December 10 at Delta High, 50 W 300 N, Delta, UT  at 7 p.m.  I think the score will be MHS 67, Delta 42.  I think the half time score will be MHS 44, Delta 20.
These are the scores from the past Delta basketball games:
2008-09  MHS 38, Delta 45
2006-07  MHS 51, Delta 52
2004-05  MHS 46, Delta 38
1998-99  MHS 41, Delta 53
Which former Delta head coach is now at Morgan?  The answer is Jim Wiscombe.
This information is from the Utah High School Activities Association.
The last time Morgan won at Delta in boy’s basketball was in 2004-05 when our current players were in middle school!  This information is from past Morgan High year books.

It is just after Thanksgiving and many of us are sitting at home in the after turkey stupor. If you are like me you are taking shelter indoors from the cold and enjoying time with the family. I love the holidays and the traditions handed down through the years from family. It is a great time of year to do family history.

It’s been three decades since my teenage years and I still have very vivid memories of my life growing up in the early 80s.  Of course, it was memorable when I got my driver’s license at 16.  It felt like a small step into the world of being an adult.  I was excited and “ready to roll,”  but it is difficult to “roll” when you don’t even have wheels, let alone the car and engine to go with them.

Over the years I have been doing family history I have occasionally heard someone claim they have their line traced back to Adam.  I have from a researcher hired by my grandma, a record which shows my Mecham line traced back to Adam.  Unfortunately, these claims are fantasy.
