Hildegard Maria Voigt, age 87, passed away on Monday, March 31, surrounded by her family.  Hildegard was born in Tuebingen, Germany. on March 14, 1927, to loving parents Karl Gottlieb Eugen Juengling and Hilde Barbara (Fahrner).  Her brother Karl was two years older and they stayed close all their lives.

Last week it was announced that our local Morgan AYSO (American Youth Soccer Organization) was the winner of the national ‘HerbaLife Wellness Challenge’.  This means that one lucky AYSO team gets to pack their bags, shine up their shin-guards, and get ready for the soccer adventure of a lifetime in Honolulu, HI for seven days and six nights.

Thelma Brooks was born 31 Aug 1913 to William Earl Brooks and Nettie Lavina Crittenden, she had 14 brothers and sisters, all deceased except for Ralph “Gus” Brooks, South Ogden Utah.

The eighty-fourth Morgan Utah and Morgan Utah North Stake Seminary Graduation exercises will be held Sunday, May 22, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the Morgan Utah Stake Building.

We will be honoring 128 graduates for their completion in excellence in the Book of Mormon, New Testament, Old Testament and Doctrine and Covenants as well as scripture mastery.

This special evening is under the direction of President John Porter of the Morgan Utah Stake and President Clark Mower of the Morgan Utah North Stake.

Principal Russell Tibbitts will have the honor of presenting the graduates to both Stake Presidents.  President John Porter will accept the graduates.  Graduates will be awarded their diplomas from their individual bishops.

Representing the graduating class to speak will be Jannae Somerville and Kessa Clemens with the Class of 2011 performing a musical number.  The public is invited.

The Morgan Seminary Faculty consists of Russell Tibbitts, Principal.  The instructors include Lance Andersen, Stephen Dredge, Michael Phelps and Janet L Randall as Secretary.

McQuown  --radio and television pioneer, prize-winning writer, ardent traveler, voracious reader, lover of the out-of-doors, a true Renaissance woman--  passed away on January 6 in San Francisco, California.  Born in Morgan, Utah, to Thelma Dickson and Curtis William Rogers, she is survived by her daughter, Eloise, San Francisco; her sisters, Marjorie Rogers Tueller (Jack) Bountiful, Utah; Florence Rogers Sowell (Wesley), Pocatello, Idaho; Sherolyn Rogers Jenkins (Larry) Morgan, Utah; and brother Bernell D. Rogers (Marjorie) of Torrance, California plus in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklyn King McQuown; her sister, Kathryn Rogers Whittier (Robert); and her parents Thelma and Curtis Rogers.
 

Funeral services will be held, Saturday, January 22, 12 noon, Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple St., SLC with a visitation  Sat. 10:30am to noon.  Burial:  Morgan Utah.  Contributions are suggested to your favorite charity.
