Lyman Verl Mecham is celebrating his 80th birthday.  Verl was born July 26, 1933, in Milton, Utah.  He is the 8th of 10 children born to Leland and Reta Mecham.  In 1954 he married his high school sweetheart Deanna Waldron in the Salt Lake LDS temple.  They have five children, all girls, Pamela (Mark) Huerta, Pauline, Sherrie (Mark) Rich, Sue (Stan) Stark and Melanie (Eric) Moore.  They have 15 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

DeMarre Carroll was welcomed to the Trojan Center with big cheers from all the junior Jazz players in the audience.  Carroll was born July 27, 1986, is 6’8” and just finished his third year in the NBA and his first year with the Utah Jazz.

On June 18, at our Sons of the Utah Pioneers monthly dinner meeting, the guest speakers were Alan and Linda Turner.  They reported on their mission to Zimbabwe, Africa, from September 2007 to March 2009.  The challenges were many they reported, but the rewards and enjoyment they felt from serving was evident during their presentation.

Elder Tony Casper, son of Dale and Robyn Casper will serve in the Independence Missouri Spanish speaking mission.  He entered the MTC on June 1.

Sandra (Sandy) Rigby Wilson, 47, our beloved wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister and friend passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2011 from a sudden illness, surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011 at 12 noon in the Morgan 6th Ward chapel, 2700 South Morgan Valley Drive, Porterville.  Friends and family may call at Walker Mortuary in Morgan Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. at the church.
