The Morgan High School Trojan 
baseball team left Spanish Fork on May 11 with an invitation to the second round of the state baseball playoffs.  After dropping their first game to top-seed Snow Canyon, the team routed the Uintah Utes, 14-4.  It was a balanced attack, with several Trojans amassing hits, RBIs and runs scored.  Two other Region 11 teams, Stansbury 
and Grantsville, were ousted from the tournament, while Bear River moved on to the next round as well.

The boy’s tennis team played against Grantsville on Thursday, April 26th.  VARSITY SCORES: 1st Doubles: Swish Wiscombe and Ben Holland won 6-1  7-6 (7-5).

March 28 the Trojan Track Team traveled to Stansbury for the second track meet of the year. This was the first time Morgan has had a track meet at the new region member Stansbury.  Tooele, Grantsville, Dugway, Wendover, Stansbury  and Morgan competed on this overcast and cold day.  Many parents followed their sons and daughters to give them the expected Morgan support and help cheer on the team.

The Trojans bounced back this week with two strong home performances.  Morgan dominated the Cowboys from Grantsville with a balanced offensive attack.  Five different players found the net with the final score 5-2.

Morgan started the season March 6 against defending 1A State runner up St. Joseph’s.  Senior Josh Holman found the net to keep the game tied at half time.  But as the snow moved in, the Trojans went cold falling to the Jayhawks 4-1.  The following day, Morgan traveled to Roy to face a powerful 4A team.  The Royals shut Morgan down, winning 8-0.

MMH Boys Varsity Basketball Win over Grantsville at Region. 

They won 72 over Grantsville’s 50 points. This qualifies them to play in the First Round State Play Offs 

which will be held in Morgan on Sat. Feb. 18 at 7 p.m.

The Morgan High School golf team finished third in the region.  The region winners were:

1st Bear River with 56 points

2nd Standsbury with 49 points

3rd Morgan with 48 points

4th Tooele with 37 points

5th Ogden with 34 points

6th Grantsville with 19 points

7th Ben Lomond with 9 points

Even though we didn’t bring home a fourth win, the Trojans varsity football still put forth their best effort in this game. From the defensive line to the offense, they still showed their burning passion for this sport.

The ladies played their season opener against Grantsville on September 6.  Taking the match in 3 games, 25-16, 25-14, and 25-17, Lady Trojan volleyball got a solid win.  Senior, Bailey Farris lead both teams in kills (16) and passing (17).

       The Morgan girls Basketball team played the girls from Grantsville high on Tuesday Jan 11th. in Trojan gym. In a totally dominating performance from start to finish, the Lady Trojans destroyed the visitors by a score of 83-15.

Melanie Kay Shaw and James LaVerle Baum were married on Thursday, October 14, 2010 in Bountiful, Utah with a reception held in their honor that evening at the Wight House in Bountiful.

The Grantsville football team showed up at Trojan Field and even before the game started, things happened between players. The Cowboys went through the Trojan warmups,. At the time it was thought that it wsa  on purpose and reported in other newspapers, but after talking with Superintendent Adams, he explained that it was talked between school officials and sorted out even before kickoff.

Chelsea Fairbourn, Senior soccer player (see photo on the left), scored both goals in varsity girls soccer in the 3-2 loss against Bear River on Tuesday of last week and then she scored 2 goals off of headers in our 10-0 shut out against Grantsville.

Tad Sargent, Senior, had one incredible varsity football game against Grantsville.  He had over 100 yards in the first half alone!

Tad Sargent, Senior, had one incredible varsity football game against Grantsville.  He had over 100 yards in the first half alone!  Tad's breakout run shifted the momentum of the game in the first half, and Grantsville would never recover...Ending the game at 49-14 for the Trojans.

Senior, AJ Bateman had a fantastic game against Grantsville last week.  AJ scored 2 goals for the lady Trojans, one goal was a header.  Morgan shut out Grantsville 10-0.
 AJ is the daughter of Bill & Gaylene Bateman and when she is not playing sports, likes to sing and hang out with her friends.
 AJ earned a $5.00 Gift Certificate to Deb's Spicy Pie for her hard work.
