The city of Morgan is proud of the fact that Commercial Street is slowly coming back to life.  New signs have appeared throughout the year marking that growth.  The newest sign on the street belongs to Morgan Valley Crafts.

If you like Wood Creations, you are going to love the newest store on Commercial Street: Morgan Valley Crafts.  For some time now, many Morgan City Council meetings have been focused on revitalizing Commercial Street and we are starting to see the success of their hard work.

The greatest of teacher said, “Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.”  A perfect admonition, but have you ever been the one who has been cursed?  Do you even know those which despitefully use you and persecute you?  Thanks to the editor, Don Anderson and the Morgan County News, Josie Foster does; and thanks to Don, WE are the enemy!

FamilySearch had a bloggers call this last week and there were some interesting highlights.  The pace of digitization is steadily increasing.  Last year FamilySearch added more than 4 million images to their collection.  This year the number will increase substantially.  FamilySearch has yet to hit the rate at which they will ultimately reach in producing digital images and other records.  They are still projecting to have their collection fully digitized within the next eight years.  This goal now seems possible.

When I was younger it was not unusual to hear someone on the playground assert, “It’s a free country!” This was usually done when they were doing something that was not quite right, but they wanted to do it anyway. As I have grown older I have discovered that there is often a misperception of the freedoms we enjoy.

In nine years of being a publisher of weekly newspapers, I only went on one vacation. On that week, I went to great lengths to make sure that a friend, a very reliable friend, would make sure the paper was completed and sent to the printer by the deadline.  I went over with him each step in the process over and over until I felt satisfied he understood everything.  He, however, was ready to forsake any and all forms of the written or published word whatsoever.
