Content about Alternative education

How important is the education of our children.  In our elementary schools we have one class with 35 children, six with 30 or more and 9 with 26 to 29 and our enrollment is growing every year.  How effective can a teacher be with so many students at this critical stage of their development?  I’ve had 10 boys in our scout troop and can’t imagine how a teacher can give adequate attention to 30 students.

HighMark Charter School (HMCS), Davis counties newest charter school, is pleased to invite the community to tour the schools new facilities and classrooms. Public open houses will be on Aug. 6, 9, and 14, from 6-8 p.m. Tours and additional information on HighMark Charter School will be available at the open houses. The school is located at 2467 E. South Weber Drive in South Weber.

Learning beyond the classroom is an essential part of a complete education.  The Morgan County School District Community has an expressed dedication to this concept through our Mission Statement and imbedded within our instruction.  “What does it look like?” is a common phrase educators use as we challenge ourselves and our colleagues during professional development and is also a phrase that is appropriate when planning successful educational experiences beyond the classroom.  What is learning beyond the classroom and how can it be linked seamlessly to the activities and learning prepared for school?
