The Trojan Century Center will be open for senior citizens and others who would like to walk in the late afternoons or early evenings from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. This will continue until spring weather is more conducive to use of the Morgan City walking path (Mikelsen Mile).
“We want our citizens, especially our senior citizens, to have the opportunity of exercising in a more controlled climate during the cold winter months,” remarked Board President Bruce Galbraith.
There will be a number of activities during the 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. time period, but most of them will be on the court or playing field. If walkers will respect these activities and stay on the track, everything should work out well for all involved. Use of the facility continues to increase with both school groups, county recreation groups and others reserving time in the center.
For further information or if you have questions regarding these use of the center, please contact Assistant Principal/Athletic Director Renn Hoopes at (801) 829-3418. The walking track is already open for use from 5:15 to 7:30 a.m., Monday through Friday.
