Traders Apparel welcomes new ownership

Shane Rappleye opened his new store on Commercial Street to give Morgan youth a place to work in a clean atmosphere and gain much-needed job skills.  However, with other business ventures taking up a large chunk of his time, Rappleye made the tough choice of putting Traders Apparel on the market.
After a lot of thought, Justin an Aimee Ferrin expressed their interest in purchasing the company. “The Rappleyes have been friends of ours for a long time and when the business went up for sale, we saw it as an opportunity to be involved in and give back to the community as well as it being a good teaching tool for our sons to get real-life, on-th- job experience,” said Aimee.
Justin and Aimee both have roots in Morgan County.  Aimee’s parents, Mark and Lauri Robinson, have been in Porterville for nearly 20 years.  Justin’s mother, Joan Durrant Ferrin, was born and raised in Morgan and his father, Rex Ferrin, in Peterson.
The couple met in February 1996 while working for the same company.  Justin had just returned home from an LDS mission and Aimee had just graduated from high school.  They decided they liked each others’ company and made it official on Friday the 13th of December that same year.
That typically “unlucky” day resulted in great things for the Ferrins. They moved back to Morgan in 2006 and have three wonderful sons: Zack, Jayson and Tyson.
Traders has been open over a year now, but many residents still aren’t aware of what a great place this is to shop.  Whether you are in search of affordable clothes for your kids who are just growing up too fast or the perfect outfit, Traders can fill every wardrobe gap.
As a thank you to their loyal patrons as well as an invitation to entice newcomers, Traders now offers Trendy Tuesdays.  On this day, customers enjoy a buy one item, get one item of equal or lesser value half off discount.  It is a great way to stock up on items your teenager simply must have.
They are also going to begin having fun promotions associated with their facebook page as well as on instagram.  You can follow them @tradersapparel.
This family-owned business is a great addition to the ambiance of the old Front Street.  Traders Apparel is open Monday - Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. They are located at 117 Commercial Street next to Deb’s Spicy Pie, so you can grab a bite to eat after you tire of shopping.
While their storefront has more of the old town charm, their website www.tradersapparel.com, has a modern edge.  The website is clean and easy to navigate, even for those who are not so technically saavy.
