Cayden Campbell, 13, who suffered severe head injuries after an ATV accident last Friday, is now home in Enterprise starting what his mother, Tisha, calls a “miraculous” recovery.
“We are so grateful to the community and neighbors, how they rallied around us and prayed,” Tisha Campbell said.  “His recovery so far has truly been a miracle.”
Even the staff at Primary Children’s Medical Center were amazed at Cayden’s recovery, Tisha said.  Cayden was lifeflighted there March 14 with severe head injuries and later underwent surgery.  He returned home Tuesday.
Cayden and four of his friends, all eighth graders at Morgan Middle School, were involved in an ATV rollover accident in Enterprise last Friday.  He and a 14-year-old girl with serious injuries were both lifeflighted to Primary Children’s, and both are now home recovering.
Tisha says her son’s recovery will be slow.  Cayden remembers setting out for the ATV adventure, but does not recall the accident itself.  However, so far he is showing good signs of recovery and medical personnel expect him to make a full recovery, she said.
In the meantime, Cayden is worried about his friends.
“They are good friends, and he is worried about them,” Tisha said.  “We are all kind of bonded.  They all just love each other.”
Two of his friends were transported to area hospitals with minor injuries while another teen was not injured.  The teens were riding in the same ATV without helmets before it rolled around 5:38 p.m., said Sgt. Scott Peay.
Immediately, social media sites lit up with concerned community members saying they were praying for the teens and their families.  A mass text message was launched meant for teens in the area curious about their friends.
“I can’t believe how many people have shown support.  It is hard to even wrap my head around the whole thing,” Tisha said.  “But five days later to have him home is miraculous.  There is no question in my mind that undeniable miracles have taken place because of the love and prayers of this community.”
