Senior News for May 5, 2011

Tuesday, May 10 Group leaving for temple at 8:30 a.m. and returning around 3:00.  Plan on lunch as usual.  Vaughn Larsen will be your volunteer driver and please call Emma Lou Bell to let her know if you are going.  

Monday, May 16  “Annie” will be the play at the Plaza Playhouse.  Group leaving center at 4:45 p.m..  If you would like to join, please call the center at (801) 845-4040.  Mary Kaye Campbell as volunteer driver.

Wednesday, May 18  At lunch time the Ogden Community Senior Council will join our group.  Please come and welcome them and enjoy lunch with entertainment provided by Dean Pace on the new piano.  Please give the office your reservations.

Thursday, May 19 Coming of Age Conference May 19th leaving at 8 a.m.:  This is an outstanding conference every year and this one will carry on that tradition of excellence.  The usual flag ceremony will open the conference, then entertainment by “Sun, Shade & Rain” followed by keynote speaker, Matt Townsend on “Relationships” followed by breakout sessions then lunch; with lots of great door prizes.  Cost is $13.00 for conference and $2.00 for ride.  Call for information at 845-4040 and registration (we need these early since it fills up fast).

Tuesday, May 24 RSVP Recognition Banquet at Timbermine,  If you are registered as a volunteer with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program you will be receiving an invitation to this event.  Rides for all of our Morgan volunteers will be furnished by the center; however, you must let us know you are going.

Trips and classes with paid teachers are paid for by participants, membership dues or by our fundraisers unless noted like the volunteer recognition banquet.  

Tuesday, May 24 Foot Clinic:  Usual 4th Tuesday, May 24th with reservations please.  845-4040

Tuesday, May 24 will be the annual recognition for volunteers.  You should receive a letter in the mail about this.  Please let the center know if you would like a ride.  This is a free program and lunch for those who volunteer with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program.

Foot Clinic:    As usual will be on the 4th Tuesday of the month, May 24 by appointment only.  Come and have lunch with the group that same day.  Baked potatoes with the trimmings, broccoli, fruit cocktail, wheat roll, oatmeal crispy and milk are on the menu. Please let the office know if you would like lunch.

Tuesday, May 31  History Class with Jay Taggart.  1:00 p.m. here at the senior center.  If you would like to have lunch first at noon, please feel welcome.  Just give the office your reservations.  President Polk will be the topic of discussion.
