Congratulations to Matt Franich for being elected “Sweetheart” for the month of April. We appreciate Matt’s smiling face here and his great contribution to the conversations.
Mondays in May as well as each month the quilting classes are continuing with Doris Thurgood as volunteer teacher at 1:00 p.m.. Bring any handicraft if you do not want to quilt. The group has a great time together and have made some beautiful projects. You will be surprised at some of the tips you receive on completing your items.
Also at 1:00 p.m. the domino playing begins! Not only does this game help your fingers stay functioning; it will test your brain as well. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to play, the ladies will help you learn.
Tuesday, May 3 Shoppers to Ogden The usual shopping Tuesday will be May 3rd leaving at approximately 1:30 p.m. A driver will take shoppers to two or three destinations and then somewhere to eat. Reservations please; we must have at least five people to go to help cover the cost.
Thursday, May 5 Mother’s Day Bingo! May 5th please join everyone immediately after lunch to play Bingo. There will be some great treats especially designed to please mothers; however everyone is invited to play on! You need not attend lunch to play, but the menu will include: barbecue pork, french fries, pears, carrots, baked beans, cookie & milk.
Tuesday, May 10 9 a.m. Temple Group will leave to travel to Bountiful. After one session at the temple the group will enjoy lunch. Please Call Emma Lou Bell to sign up. Vaughn Larsen is the volunteer driver.
Monday, May 16 “Annie” will be the play at the Plaza Playhouse. Group leaving center at 4:45 p.m.. If you would like to join, please call the center at (801) 845-4040. Mary Kaye Campbell as volunteer driver.
Wednesday, May 18 Senior Community Council from Ogden will join the lunch group. Dean Pace will be here to demonstrate our new piano. Please come out and support your center by having lunch with the group at noon. Reservations are appreciated.
Thursday, May 19 Coming of Age Conference May 19th leaving at 8 a.m.: This is an outstanding conference every year and this one will carry on that tradition of excellence. The usual flag ceremony will open the conference, then entertainment by “Sun, Shade & Rain” followed by keynote speaker, Matt Townsend on “Relationships” followed by breakout sessions then lunch; with lots of great door prizes. Cost is $13.00 for conference and $2.00 for ride. Call for information at 845-4040 and registration (we need these early since it fills up fast).
RSVP Recognition Banquet at Timbermine, May 24th. If you are registered as a volunteer with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program you will be receiving an invitation to this event. Rides for all of our Morgan volunteers will be furnished by the center; however, you must let us know you are going.
Trips and classes with paid teachers are paid for by participants, membership dues or by our fundraisers unless noted like the volunteer recognition banquet.

Tuesday, May 24 will be the annual recognition for volunteers. You should receive a letter in the mail about this. Please let the center know if you would like a ride. This is a free program and lunch for those who volunteer with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program.
Foot Clinic: As usual will be on the 4th Tuesday of the month, May 24 by appointment only. Come and have lunch with the group that same day. Baked potatoes with the trimmings, broccoli, fruit cocktail, wheat roll, oatmeal crispy and milk are on the menu. Please let the office know if you would like lunch.
