Reindeer, caribou artwork

The students at Mountain Green Elementary School have had an opportunity this Christmas season to learn about reindeer and caribou thanks to an amazing piece of artwork loaned to the school from Milan and Susan Mecham.

Milan crafted a picture frame from caribou antlers and asked local artist, Joanne Corpany, to paint a picture of a reindeer to put inside the frame.  The students have loved being able to see the actual reindeer antlers as well as learn all about reindeer and their habitat.

They have also enjoyed listening to fun Christmas stories about reindeer. A big thank you to the Mecham’s for their continual support of the student’s in our district.
