What sets you free? If it includes riding a bike on the road or in the mountains, taking part in a Wildflower Event is something you need to put on your to do list.
The Wildflower Pedalfest is a fully supported road biking event taking place on August 17. The Wildflower Trailfest on September 14 is one of a kind. It is the first and only mountain biking event in Utah that is just for women. These events give women an opportunity to experience the fun, friendship, and strength that comes from working together to accomplish a common goal.
The top 10 reasons to participate in a Wildflower Outdoor event include: A really cute t-shirt – Don’t you hate when you participate in an event only to receive a t-shirt that is too big or too ugly to wear for anything more than for sleeping, cleaning, or painting? Wildflower Pedalfest shirts are guaranteed to be something you will be proud to wear.
Location- Pedalfest participants will pedal through the quiet and scenic mountain valley of Morgan County. It is one of the few rides in the nation that can boast that riders won’t ride through a single stop light. The Trailfest is on the awesome single track trails of Snowbasin Ski Resort home of the Wildflower Downhill course which was the inspiration for our name. The downhill course is both beautiful and challenging just like the courses of both Wildflower Events. Specific course details can be found at: WildflowerOutdoor.com.
New Friends- Participating in an all women event allows women to feel less intimidated and to just have fun and enjoy the day in their own comfort zone. It is amazing to see so many women caring about, supporting, and helping their new friends along the way. We love girl power.
A chance to challenge yourself- The Pedalfest includes the Wildflower Hill Climb challenge which is a timed 4.5 mile climb to the top of Big Mountain. Prizes are awarded to the top finishers based on age group categories. The Trailfest can be completed as a ride or a race. Either way you are free from the fear of other riders charging up or down the hill as Snowbasin trails will be open to only Trailfest riders during the challenge.
Great food- Roosters is catering the Wildflower Pedalfest and Rita is busy preparing another amazing dessert buffet. Starbucks will be providing a continental breakfast for all riders before starting the Wildflower Trailfest. When you are done Snowbasin is offering discount gondola tickets and a special barbeque at the top for family and friends.
A chance to make a difference- A portion of registration fees will be donated to each rider’s charity of choice through Threshold Gives. We will be also be hosting a used bike drive for the Bike Collective charity in conjunction with the Womens Cycling Expo on August 7 at Layton High School. Donate the old bike that is just sitting in your garage and change a life.
Shopping- A day out with the girls riding and then shopping is hard to beat. If you are interested in being a vendor at our event please contact Stacie at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
The Celebration- Get a massage, visit the amazing mini dessert buffet, listen to the live band, or win one of our awesome raffle prizes.
Free to ride at your own ability- It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or an old pro, Wildflower events include a ride for women of all biking abilities. The Pedalfest has four course options to choose from: 20, 35, 50 or 75 miles. The Trailfest has three categories: beginner, sport, or expert.
Education- Wildflower organizers have worked hard to offer women riders a variety of educational opportunities so they can ride comfortably, safely and confidently on the road or in the mountains. Check wildfloweroutdoor.com to see a calendar of the many classes and clinics available for you to attend.
This is your opportunity to ride like a wildflower – beautiful, strong, and free. Events are all planned, all that is missing is you.
