Obituary for Roy Franklin Maxwell

Roy F. Maxwell, CPA, passed away June 19, 2010, at home, at the age of 81.  Roy was born June 14, 1929, to Elroy M. and Viola Marchant Maxwell.
Roy married Donna Mae Heiner, and had two daughters, Mitzi and Lori.  Later divorced.  He married Beva Welch November 15, 1974, and added two more children, Brent and Cheryl.  Roy was a graduate of Morgan High School and University of Utah.  He served two years in the US Air Force, stationed at Keeslek Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi.  He was a certified public accountant.  He practiced more than 50 years and loved his profession.  He served on the Quality Review Oversight Committee.  He was appointed by the governor to be on the Utah State Board of Accountancy, and served from 1999-2007.  Roy was also a member of the Coast Guard Auxillary, serving as Flotilla Commander.  He was a past member of the Heber Valley Rotary Club and the Elks Lodge.  Roy was a member of the USPA, serving as president from 1998 to 1999.  He was a member of the UACPA, NASBA, and AICPA.  He was a member of the LDS church.
Roy is survived by his wife, Beva; daughters, Mitzi (John) Barber and Lori (Gary) Pemberton; step-children, Cheryl Pierce and Brent (Molly) Welch; sister, Gloria (Curtis) Morgan; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents, twin brother, and step-son, Blaine A. Welch.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 24, 2010 at. Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home, 288 N. Main St., Heber, UT .  A viewing was held  on Wednesday evening and Thursday prior to the services, both at the funeral home.  Interment the Heber City Cemetery.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinhoopes.com
