Quenton James Palmer, 85, passed away on July 8, 2011, after a short illness. He was born on February 2, 1926, to James Thomas and Fern Lowe Palmer in Morgan, Utah. He graduated from Morgan High School. Shortly after graduating, he enlisted in the Navy and served his country during World War II. After his honorable service, he returned home and married his sweetheart, Barbara Joy Whitear on April 16, 1948. They are the parents of three children, Cheryle (Randall) Manning, Wendy (Larry) Farr, and Gary (Kathi) Palmer. He was an accomplished organist and served his church for many years in this capacity. With his wife, he served an LDS mission in Dallas, Texas. His pride and joy were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss him very much. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; sister, LaDawn (Keith) Toone; brother, Garth (Joyce) Palmer; his three children; thirteen grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 12:00 noon at the Ensign Stake Center, 135 “A” Street. A viewing will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, and one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will take place in the Morgan City Cemetery following the services at approximately 4:00 pm.
