Obituary for Marge Mortenson

Elsie Marjorie Luckey Mortenson 89, returned to her Heavenly father January 16, 2011.  She was born in Ogden, Utah on May 4, 1921 to James Willis Luckey and Elsie Fry Tonks.  
Marge married the love of her life Forrest Wayne Mortenson on September 13, 1937.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 6, 1949.  
Marge was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings.  She spent many years in the Stake Young Women’s Presidency, served in the Relief Society Presidency, a Sealing Team in the temple and visiting teaching.  She completed the Pursuit of Excellence in 1988 at the age of 67.  
She was a hard worker who worked for the Morgan School District serving lunch and also at Weber State College.  She and Wayne were the custodians for the Porterville Church for many years.  Marge and Wayne square danced with the Jack & Jill Square Dance Club. She was a wonderful cook and loved to do ceramics and cross stitch.  The family will cherish the ceramic gifts.  
She was a wonderful mother to 9 daughters, Surviving are those 9 daughters and their spouses; Pat (Alton) Olsen, Morgan; Carol (Don) Preece, Morgan; Cleo (Denny) Stuart, Morgan; Judy (Leon) Carter, Morgan; Ann Hardman, Sandy; Susan (Jeff) Ovard, Henefer; Brenda (Dennis) Hennefer, Henefer; Denise (Howard) Hansen, Morgan; Jill Fawcett, Henefer; 32 grandchildren, 55 great- grandchildren, and 25 great-great grandchildren.   Four new great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren expected in the next few months
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three siblings, two son-in-laws, one grandson and one great grandson.
Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary in Morgan, Thursday, January 20 from 6:00 to 8:00 and Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 at the Porterville Church with Funeral Services following at 11:30.
The family would like to thank Legacy Health Care, especially Paige, Talisha, Courtney, Marie and Kirsten for their great care. The sisters would also like to thank Judy and Denise for their loving care of our mother for the last few years.
