James Covel Woody, of Mountain Green, Utah, passed away on April 18, 2014. He was born Sept. 23, 1931, in Ogden, Utah, to Covel John and Norma Warren Woody. He was educated in the Ogden City schools. He was a member of the LDS Church. James was an amazing example of service.
James was drafted during the Korean Conflict and proudly served our country in the U.S. Army.
James married Lois Ann Maxwell Dec. 18, 1955, in Elko, Nev.
He worked with his father and brother in the printing business before starting his own company, Jim Woody Printing. James moved from Ogden to Mountain Green 30 years ago and chose never to leave.
Jim enjoyed the years he spent as a volunteer member of the Weber County Jeep Patrol, serving as commander twice. He enjoyed photography and loved the outdoors. He also loved animals.
James is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lois; children, Norma (Brent) Christensen, Steven (Jerilyn) Woody, Stan (Jacie) Woody and Jeff (Charlotte) Woody; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his dog Sadie. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Boyd, and sister, VeLora Jones.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. A viewing was be held Tuesday, April 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. and also on Wednesday prior to the service from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at Myers Mortuary.

Interment, Mountain Green Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded.
