Obituary - Dorothy Louise (Phillips) Bennett

Dorothy Louise (Phillips) Bennett (91) passed away 13 May 2011 in Sandy, Utah and was transported back to Sandpoint, Bonner, Idaho, her home for 60 years.

Born 31 Oct. 1919 in Porterville, Morgan, Utah to Carl and Ada (Crawford). Married Lloyed Allen Bennett 21 June 1940. Their marriage was later solemnized 28 Mar 1950 in the Salt Lake Templed. Living in Utah till war’s end. Survived children: Sheldon, Gordon (Kathyrn) Hill, (Richard G. (Judy Garner) Scott, Daniel (Janet) Bowe, Gary (Patti) Withers. Sisters: Vera Carter, Betty Steward. 25 Grandchildren and many great-gradchildren.

Preceded in death by parents, husband (Lloyd Bennet), grandson Tad Garner, brothers Don and Marvin.

A happy, talented daughter, wife, and mother, she enjoyed everything she accomplished. Always gardening, raising honey bees, and writing poetry. She served a Stake Mission with Lloyd and at the Genealogy Library in Salt Lake City, Utah doing family research on both families tying her Phillips to the Vruggink (Fronk) line belonging to her husband’s lines- “Small World”. Burial 19 May 2011 Peak River Cemetery by husband Lloyd A. Bennett.
