Shelly Betz (Chair), Kandi Christiansen (Vice-Chair), Lydia Nuttall (Secretary) and Mike Madeo (Treasurer) commenced their new responsibilities for Morgan Empowered on October 11th for the 2011-2012 year. Our Morgan community wishes to express appreciation for the dedicated service rendered by Lanelle Butterfield, Jennie Earl, and Brenda Crossley who were the previous chair, secretary and treasurer respectively of Morgan Empowered.
M.E. is about to begin its third year serving our community. Their mission statement is “to coordinate family and community resources to empower our youth to become responsible and upright adults.” Everyone (businesses included!) is invited to help M.E. fulfill their mission statement and attend their monthly meeting held the second Tuesday of each month at the Morgan School District office from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.
Parents! Don’t forget the upcoming event sponsored by Morgan Empowered: “An Evening with Richard & Linda Eyre” on Tuesday, October 25th at 7 p.m. at the Morgan High School auditorium. Come and gather ideas on how to stop entitlement in your home. 100 free copies of the Eyre’s recent book, The Entitlement Trap will be given to those in attendance (one per household). Doors will open at 6:30 pm. This is especially for adults so mark your calendars, arrange for a baby sitter for the kids, grab your spouse, and come ready to be enlightened together!
