This photo was brought into us by Dick Slate. Can you tell us who they are?
From the Morgan Valley Memories picture submited in the Nov. 11 issue of the deer hunters, we had 2 community members share their memories.
Dick Slate named the people in the pictures who are, Mac Crouch, John D. Heiner, Rex Heiner, Ken Sommers, “Whitey” Little, Vance Heiner, Garland Heiner, Dan Sommers, Milo Heiner, “Mart” Lee, Chole Heiner.
This picture was taken by a deer hunt up by Lost Creek. The Heiners owned a cabin that is now under water at Lost Creek Dam. Their land was backed to the Desert Land and Livestock property. Hal Heiner submitted information about this particular deer hunt. These men all got 5 deer from the same hunt back in 1947. Hal Heiner shared that this was a pretty remarkable picture as these deer hunters had ridden their horses 3 hours into Blue Fork Canyon above Lost Creek to get the deer and bring them back home. Year book photographer named Harold Richins took the photo. Of the picture, Dan Sommers is the only one still living.
Thank you to Dick Slate and to Hal Heiner who came in, and called to give more history for Morgan Valley Memories.
