Morgan Middle School Geography Bee

Austin Myers, a student at Morgan Middle School, won the school-level competition of the National Geographic Bee on Monday, December 21, 2010 and a chance at a $25,000 college scholarship.  The school-level Bee, at which students answered oral and written questions on geography, was the first round in the annual National Geographic Bee.  
Other students participating in the final competition included; Allison Green, BrocWilkinson, Shad Boswell, Austin Flitton, Jaycee Cook, Alex Eddington, Parker Lucas, Parker Padelsky, and Anna Tibbitts.   By the end of the final round Austin Myers had taken 1st place with Alex Eddington in 2nd and Broc Wilkinson taking 3rd.  
Austin will now take a written test; up to 100 of the top scorers in each state will be eligible to compete in there state Bee on April 1, 2010.  State champions will then compete in Washington, D.C. to be the national winner and receive a $25,000 college scholarship.
