Morgan High School Course Registration for the 2011-2012 School Year Begins Soon

Registration for the 2011-2012 school year is about to begin!  Students will receive information soon and we would like to encourage parents to be involved with their student’s class selection.

On Monday, March 14, all students will attend an assembly designed specifically for their individual grade level.  We will provide all the information students will need to register for high school classes.  These assemblies will be held in the high school auditorium beginning at 8:00 a.m. for all eighth grade students.  Freshmen will meet at 9:00 a.m., sophomores at 10:00 a.m. and juniors at 12:30 p.m.  

On Tuesday, March 15, the counseling center will hold their annual Registration Information Night for all students and their parents.  Next year’s ninth and tenth grade students and their parents need to be in the high school auditorium at 5:30 p.m.  Next year’s eleventh and twelfth grade students and their parents will want to be in the auditorium for their session beginning at 6:15 p.m.  Parents are invited to attend the assemblies at the school on Monday morning if it is more convenient.

Again this year, class requests will be entered by the student online.  Access to online requesting will open at 3:00 p.m. on March 14 and will close at 12:00 p.m. on March 21.  We encourage parents to work with their students in selecting classes.  For those families that do not have internet access, the high school counseling center lab is available from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. each day and the counseling center staff will be available to answer any questions.  Students are encouraged to turn in their signed request forms to their advisor on Friday, March 18 during advisory; however, we will accept the forms until Monday, March 21 at 3:00 p.m.  Those who have not entered their class requests and turned in the proper paper work by March 21 will be required to pay a $10.00 fee.

Counselors and administration will then process student requests and develop a master schedule for the 2011-2012 school year.  Once the master schedule has been created, schedules will be printed and students will have the opportunity to review their schedules with parents and advisors during SEOP Conferences on April 27 and 28.  Students will then have the opportunity to make any necessary changes to their schedule online until May 17 at 7:00 a.m. without a schedule change fee.
