The Morgan Elementary fourth grade recently went on a field trip to the Utah State Capitol.  When we arrived at the State Capitol Building, we were taken right to the gold room where we met Utah’s first lady.

In this beautiful room which is reserved for very special guests, she told us about Utah and some things about the capitol.  For instance, she told us the granite on the outside walls came from Utah and much of the marble on the inside came from Georgia.

Another neat thing we were able to do was go to the senate chamber where the senate was in session.  The speaker paused and welcomed us. It was pretty cool to see the congress in session. We ended our trip by going to the Museum of Natural History at the University of Utah.  That was amazing, and so much fun!
