The Morgan Elementary School second grade classes participated in a “Turkey Trot” race this past Friday.

The children were to run once around the track at the high school.  Many children prepared for the race by practicing at home and school.  Several admitted they were a bit  anxious and nervous before the big race.

The first place winners were rewarded with a turkey donated by Bingham’s Custom Meats, second place winners received hams donated by Ridley’s, and third place winners received pies donated by Walmart (Park City).  Many parents came out to cheer on and support their children.

Crossing the finish line first were Jayson Ferrin (boys) and Sadie McGreer (girls).  Second place winners were Blake Dotson (boys) and Maryn Thackery (girls).  Tied for third were Jackson Laney and Levi Millward (boys) and Hope Woolsey (girls).

Although he made it look easy, Jayson Ferrin confessed, “It was hard!”  The faculty would like to thank Bingham’s Custom Meats, Ridley’s, and Walmart for donating the prizes and also all the parents who came out to support the Turkey Trot.
