Broc Wilkinson, a student at Morgan Middle School, won the school-level competition of the National Geographic Bee on January 10, 2012 and a chance at a $25,000 college scholarship. The school-level Bee, at which students answered oral and written questions on geography, was the first round in the annual National Geographic Bee.
Other students participating in the final competition included; Madi Wilde, Grayson Charlton, Andrew Ziegler, Landon Casper, Seth Forsberg, Ryan Millburn, Spencer Lowder, Sharlene Gunn, and Austin Tonks. By the end of the final round Broc Wilkinson had taken 1st place with Madi Wilde taking 2nd
Broc will now take a written test; up to 100 of the top scorers in each state will be eligible to compete in the state Bee on March 30, 2012. State champions will then compete in Washington, D.C. and the winner will receive a $25,000 college scholarship.
