Larry Shepherd, a community outreach director with the U.S. Senate and a representative with Sen. Mike Lee’s office, visited Morgan May 30 and hopes to make other visits in the near future.
His goal is to visit each county four times each year, he said. In the last year and a half, he has visited Morgan County three times.
“Morgan is very unique, but not in a bad way,” Shepherd said.
In the 20 years he has been employed with the Senate, no other Congressional office in Utah has been as committed to having representatives throughout the state as Mike Lee has been, Shepherd said.
“My favorite part of having the mobile office throughout the state is the difference we can make in someone’s life,” said Shepherd, a Davis County resident. For example, as a representative of Mike Lee, Shepherd can connect people to state case workers to help handle their concerns.
During his recent two-hour visit to Morgan, Shepherd said he had spoken to very few residents and he hopes to hear from more in the future.
