Natasha Lyn Andersen was named to the Utah High School Activities Association 2012 academic all-state girls’ soccer team. She was honored at the 3A state soccer championship game at the Rio Tinto stadium on Oct. 20. These are such intelligent girls, the cumulative grade point average of the selected team members is a 4.0.
Andersen led her team in scoring both her junior and senior years with a career total of 24 varsity goals. Her senior year got off to a rough start when her MCL was sprained at the first pre-season game. After cheering on her teammates from the bench for the first three weeks of play she came back to lead on the field, scoring nine goals for the season from her center mid-fielder position, wearing number 22.
Natasha was also chosen to lead throughout the season as a team captain. In previous years, Natasha played in both the wing and forward positions and has been coached all four years by head coach Tara Ferrin. Vanessa Hall and Stephanie Fairbourn assist Ferrin in coaching the Morgan girls’ soccer team and Natasha has enjoyed learning from their experience, skill and love for the game. She has loved her four wonderful years with her incredible teammates at Morgan High School and plans to attend college next year.
