MHS Boy’s Soccer is ready for region play after tough preseason

Article Date:
16 March, 2012 (All day)

Morgan started the season March 6 against defending 1A State runner up St. Joseph’s.  Senior Josh Holman found the net to keep the game tied at half time.  But as the snow moved in, the Trojans went cold falling to the Jayhawks 4-1.  The following day, Morgan traveled to Roy to face a powerful 4A team.  The Royals shut Morgan down, winning 8-0.

Taking advantage of a day off to make adjustments, Morgan regrouped and traveled to Kamas to take on the Wildcats of South Summit.  Playing stingy defense and balanced offense, the Trojans returned home with their first victory of the season.  Senior, Sterling Wilkerson, sophomore Josh Abplanalp, and junior Caymen Grey each scored one goal for a final score of 3-1.

Region play begins this week.  Varsity games are at 3:30, followed by JV at 5:30.
