It’s a new year with new featured artists at Rocky Mountain Fine Art Gallery

This year, each month a Junior or Senior Art Student from Morgan High School will display their art work in the local art gallery. Amy Everhart, gallery director explained, “the students can sign up in their high school art class to have their work displayed for a month.” 

Though if the students aren’t currently enrolled in an art class, she invites them to stop by the gallery to sign up there are some months still available.

Amy hopes that this will give the students, more opportunities and will help with future resumes and those applying for scholarships such as Sterling Scholar.

January’s featured artist is Ashly Pentz, who happens to be MHS Sterling Scholar for Visual Arts. 

February’s featured artist has not been selected yet. However the gallery will have local artists that mainly do art works with nature such as creative art with feathers by Joe Watkins and the art of taxidermy animals by Josh Hunt.

In March, Amy hopes to feature watercolor art, as well as an artist from the high school.

April the gallery will be featuring portraits,said Amy.

The art gallery in May is planning their one year anniversary celebration .

The rest of the year as far as featured artists and what type of art has yet to be announced.

Local artists, if you haven’t met Amy, she is always looking to meet artists from Morgan County to feature in the gallery.

The gallery director is offering after-school art classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The classes will be teaching drawing and painting , call for prices.
