Saturday morning welcomed runners with blue skies and beautiful weather. The event ran from Riverside Park on a scenic course, taking in views of the Morgan Valley, to running along the river trail. This year's event was again a successful fundraiser for the Morgan High School Cross Country Team with nearly 160 athletes competing.
Participants included serious athletes competing for the fastest times, parents running with their children, and kids just enjoying the beautiful day in the sun. Whether they ran full out for the best time, or walked the course to support the cross country team, they enjoyed their participation.
At the end of the race they found cheering crowds, water, oranges, and bananas.  They also found a park full to the brim with great events and many friends and neighbors.
Of the athletes who competed, Nate Miller, from Midway, UT topped the men's field for the second year in a row with a time of 18:09.7. "The course, the race, the people, and supporting Morgan Cross Country, this race is great! I just love coming here and look forward to what the future holds for this race. It's one I look forward to."
Adam Aimo stayed with Nate until the last mile of the race to be nudged out for second place with a time of 18:56.0. Matt Dicou, who will be a senior on the Boys' Cross Country team this year, rounded out the top three men with a time of 19:10.6.
On the women's side, Tiffany Evans, of Morgan led and won the race with a time of 20:37.4. Leading Senior on Morgan's Girls' Cross Country Team wasn't far from Evans for much of the race and came in second with a time of 21:09.7. Jacki Cameron finished off the top three with a time of 22:27.1.
The Morgan Cross Country Team expressed thanks to those who came out and supported the team, had fun, and ran/walked the course! They also expressed a warm thank you to the sponsors and volunteers who helped make this fundraiser a success!
