Larry & Merle Durrant just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They celebrated with a family dinner at Larry’s Spring Chicken Inn.
Larry and Merle were high school sweethearts. They met at a basketball game between North Summit and Wasatch. Larry was of course playing basketball and Merle was cheer leading. The rest is history!
They were married on October 14, 1960 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Larry served in the U.S. Army and then retired from UDOT after a long distinguished career.
Merle worked at The Morgan County News, Morgan Drug and then retired from The First National Bank of Morgan.
They are currently serving as temple ordinance workers in the Ogden LDS Temple. They love spending time with their family, watching Morgan High School sports and working outside in their yard.
They have three children; Gary Durrant, Karen (Tod) Straw, and Diane Giles. They have five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
