The Morgan Girls Golf team traveled to Tremonton last Thursday for their final regular season tournament.  The tournament was delayed one hour while one storm passed, and once play began, it was just a matter of time before the next storm rained down on them.  Soaking wet, they managed to finish nine holes of golf.

The team placed third behind Judge Memorial and Juan Diego and ahead of Bear River, Ben Lomond and Grantsville.

Only two strokes separated Morgan and Juan Diego.

Leading the way for Morgan was sophomore McKinzee Dawson with a 3rd place overall finish.   Junior Camille Wheatley tied for 7th place and freshman Rachel Halverson and senior Emili Ballantyne rounded out the scoring for Morgan with a 9th place finish.

As the only two seniors on the team, Emili Ballantyne and Assia Wolford were honored with flowers along with the other teams senior golfers.

Assia was not able to play because her foot was in a soft cast due to a soccer injury.

The Region tournament will be held (weather permitting) Thursday, April 28th at the Bluff Golf Course.

Thanks to the coaches for their long hours with the girls and good luck golfers at region!
