Former Morgan Resident Wins Photography Rookie of the Year Award

Rashelle Whitear Stephens, daughter of Bevan and Joni Whitear was recently awarded the “Rookie of the Year” Award for her excellence in photography.

Rashelle is a member of the Intermountain Professional Photographers Association (IPPA).   In order to receive “Rookie of the Year” a photographer must obtain the highest overall score among first time competing photographers.  

Rashelle entered four prints and received numerous awards for her work.  In addition to receiving “Rookie of the Year”, she also won The Judges Choice Award and The Fuji Award.  With her high score she was able to qualify for the Court of Honor, a spot reserved for the highest scoring photographers at the competition.

Rashelle is a graduate of Southern Utah University where she majored in Interpersonal Communications.  She is also working and training in her father’s studio where she specializes in children and infant photography.

Rashelle enjoys scenic photography and has traveled around the country and throughout Europe taking photographs which are on display and for sale in the studio. Rashelle is following in her father’s footsteps.  

Bevan has been a Master Photographer for the past 17 years.  His studio “Bevan’s Photography and Design” is located in Kaysville Utah.  Bevan has owned and operated the Kaysville studio for the past ten years.
