Many of those involved in family history in Morgan may not know that we have a celebrity/expert in our midst.
Holly Hansen is the owner of Family History Expos. Hansen has worked in family history for many years. About 10 years ago she decided that one way to help more individuals become involved in family history was to run regional family history conferences. These conferences make family history more accessible with fees that are more affordable than the large national conferences.
Over the last decade Hansen has become a moving force in the family history industry. Her conferences have set the standard for what good genealogical conferences can be. She has focused not just on the experienced genealogist, but has specifically targeted speakers and courses to those who are just getting started. She has brought family history to tens of thousands of individuals who otherwise would have struggled to get started.
On Nov. 22 and 23, Hansen will bring her considerable talents and knowledge to Morgan. Family History Expos will be holding a Genealogy and Local History Celebration on these two days.
The two-day event will include a Friday tour of the historical Summit County Courthouse, the Morgan County Library and Historical Society holdings, and the Morgan Family History Center. The keynote presentation and celebration dinner will be held on Friday at Larry’s Spring Chicken Inn. There will be five classes on Saturday to assist and educate attendees in the basics and details for family history research.
The following is the agenda for the two days:
