Lesli Jensen has now lived in Morgan for three years and continues to be grateful for living in such a beautiful valley. In the short amount of time she has lived here, she has been able to have a big impact on the lives of many Morgan residents. Through her two business, Essential Wellness Massage and Sunshine Dreams (a Sewing and Crocheting business), she helps others relieve tension, feel better, finish projects and learn new skills.
Years ago Jensen had been working as a litigation paralegal and had been doing so for seven years when her youngest son, Joshua (then only 2 1/2 years old), was diagnosed with a seizure disorder. The doctors told Jensen that her son would require massages up to three times a week in order to relax his tight muscles and decrease stress.  Wanting to help her son, Jensen immediately left her work as a paralegal and went back to school to learn the skills of massage therapy.
For the past 12 years, Jensen has been able to help others with this talent as well. Oftentimes, people get a massage to help them relax.  However, many other health benefits are often overlooked. Regular massages can ease muscle and back pain, improve sleep and even help with anxiety and depression. Receiving a massage may also reduce levels of the stress hormone cortisol, which can lead to decreased blood pressure and a greater feeling of happiness.
Jensen loves the time she is able to spend traveling to sports events where she provides pre and post-race massages. She especially enjoys helping others feel good and giving back because she remembers the many times she has needed help with her own kids. Jensen’s two boys Geoffrey (18) and Joshua (now 15) both have had medical issues. She has witnessed firsthand the way massage has helped her own family, and she likes to share her skills with others.  To further give back, she is always offering a free add-on to her services, sometimes adding a moisturizing foot treatment or a hot stone massage. Her prices make it economical for those wanting the experience, with an hour massage for only $50 or a 90 min massage for $75. In addition to regular massages, sports massages and body wraps, she also teaches classes on infant and couples massage.
Jensen’s other passion can be seen in her business, Sunshine Dreams, which offers classes on sewing and crocheting. Jensen loves to teach all skill levels and age groups and enjoys sharing her love for creating with others. She is so grateful she paid attention when her grandmother taught her to sew and crochet. She has used her knowledge on many different kinds of projects and offers it to help others. Whether you are looking for someone just to finish a project or you would like her to teach you how to do it, she will help you make it happen. Jensen has a very diverse skill set and is able to do everything from simple alterations to bridal dresses.
Jensen’s office is located on 157 Commercial St. but hours are by appointment only. House calls are also available. To reach Jensen, please call (801) 458-8899.
