A body, believed to be Alexis Rasmussen, was discovered in a grave in an isolated portion of Morgan County. North Ogden Police Chief Polo Afuvai, said, “Late yesterday afternoon police were led to an undisclosed grave site in an isolated area of Morgan County by a confidential source.” at a press conference on October 19th. He added that the evidence and remains have been taken to the medical examiner to prove identity and to determine the cause of death.
Rasmussen was reported missing on September 11. Individuals from the Weber County Attorney’s office, FBI, Ogden Police Department, Weber County Search and Rescue, CSI, and other agencies have been involved in the investigation.
Weber County Attorney, Dee Smith said, “We cannot confirm yet that it is in fact her [Rasmussen]…hopefully there will be a confirmation soon…The investigation is going to continue. There are suspects, I can’t name them right now, but the investigation is ongoing and I am confident that they will have some more answers shortly.”
Rasmussen was baby sitting for Eric and Dea Millerberg the night before she was reported missing. The Millerberg’s were arrested on unrelated drug charges earlier this month.
