Lyman Verl Mecham is celebrating his 80th birthday. Verl was born July 26, 1933, in Milton, Utah. He is the 8th of 10 children born to Leland and Reta Mecham. In 1954 he married his high school sweetheart Deanna Waldron in the Salt Lake LDS temple. They have five children, all girls, Pamela (Mark) Huerta, Pauline, Sherrie (Mark) Rich, Sue (Stan) Stark and Melanie (Eric) Moore. They have 15 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Verl has always been and continues to be an active member in the community and the LDS church. He has served as bishop (twice) and stake president. He and Deanna completed a mission in Adam-ondi-Ahman, Missouri.
Verl partnered with his brother Geary to form Mecham Brothers Construction. He was the heavy equipment operator for the company for 42 years before “semi”-retiring. Verl enjoys spending time with his family at Mecham Meadows, 4-wheeling, rides in the snow cat, supporting his grandchildren in their sports activities and every Sunday night “popcorn” parties.
Please join Verl and his family in a celebration July 27 from 2-4 p.m. The open house will be held at the LDS rock church, 10 W. Young St., Morgan. We would love to see you there, please no gifts. Happy Birthday Dad/Grandpa, we love you!
