Happy 90th Birthday
Harold W. Orton will celebrate his 90th birthday. Friends and family may attend an open house in his honor from 2 to 4 p.m., March 29, 2014, at the Milton Chapel, 1255 N. Morgan Valley Drive, in Morgan. No gifts.
He was born March 31, 1924, in North Ogden to Joseph and Myrtle Orton. Harold retired from Hill Air Force Base as the director of morale, welfare and recreation. He was instrumental in the development of the golf course, recreation center, rodeo arena, famcamp, hobby shop, bowling alley, library, gymnasium, swimming pool, child care center, theater, youth center, little league and regular ball parks, Hillhaus at Snowbasin and Carter Creek in the Uintahs.
Harold has eight children, 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
One of his favorite hobbies is doing leatherwork. He enjoys hunting, fishing (especially at Grey’s River, Wyoming), snowmobiling, camping and going to the cabin in the Uintahs that he built by hand with the help of friends and family.
