Darlene Newbold Little celebrated her 80th birthday with her family at a picnic in the Morgan City Park. The second of three girls, she was born July 1, 1932, to Henrietta and Orlon Newbold. She was raised in South Jordan and graduated from Jordan High School. Her favorite hobby as a child growing up was horses, where she could ride and perform standing up on her horse Babe. She was the Salt Lake County Rodeo Queen.
Her love story started at Como Springs here in Morgan while attending a young woman’s activity. It is here where she me the love of her life, Frank “Whitey” Little. He ran the roller skating rink and ask her for a dance. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple in Salt Lake City.
Her passion has always been service along the side of her husband. The Christmas scene above her home that they started over 50 years ago is a huge service that she loves. Her hobbies include camping with her family, trips to Jackson Hole attending the Bar J, holiday traditions of which anything is a holiday to her. She loves watching her grandchildren in any event that they are in. She is the owner of Little Sound of which she and her family have operated for many years. And she takes great pride in her yard work working outside.
She has served as a compassionate service leader in Relief Society for many years as well as many other callings. Her biggest hobby in life is her family. Her hands are of service, work and love for her family and community. Her four children and spouses are Janet and Dave Randall, Sherrie and John Schroen, Frankie and Sally Little, Cindy and Tony London. She has 17 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. She is a very special grandmother with grandchildren that love her and a great example of a mom for her children. Happy Birthday, Mom! We Love you!
