Anniversary - Jay and Bonnie Jeffery

Article Date:
8 March, 2013 (All day)

Jay and Bonnie Jeffery are happy to announce their 60th wedding anniversary. The couple was married on Friday, March 13, 1953, in the Manti temple. Bonnie was reared in Provo and Jay in Delta.
The two started their lives together in Provo, where Jay finished his bachelor’s degree in accounting. Two years into their marriage, they moved with their 10-month-old son to Chicago, Ill. After three years in Chicago, they returned to Provo to attend BYU once again.
After graduating with a teaching certificate, Jay went to Delta, Utah, to teach in the seminary system. From there they went to New Zealand for five years. With six children they sailed home once again to go to BYU, where Jay earned his master’s degree. They then went to Fredonia, Ariz., in the education system, where he also earned his doctoral degree.
Four years and three children later they moved to Morgan, Utah, where Jay became the assistant superintendent. He finished his employment as the director of finance for the State of Utah.
They reared 12 children, 11 of them graduating from Morgan High School (their oldest child, Melvin, graduated from Fredonia High previous to their move to Morgan).
They have 56 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  They love living here and look forward to this celebration. There will be a reception held on March 16, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Milton ward chapel 1255 N. Morgan Valley Drive.  We would like to invite everyone to come celebrate with us. Please no gifts. See you there!
