Anniversary - George and Gwen Francis

George and Gwen Francis of Morgan will be honored for their 60th wedding anniversary by their children on Saturday Oct 27, with an open house from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Field Street Church, 240 S. 300 W. in Morgan. The celebration will also be in honor of his 80th birthday. Family and friends are welcome. 
They were high school sweethearts and were married on May 3, 1952. They started their married life in Ogden where he worked for American Can Co., Continental Bakery and in 1961 moved back to Morgan where he worked at the First National Bank of Morgan until his retirement in 1996. 
He was president of the bank at the time of his retirement. George also served on the board of directors for the Western Independent Bankers and the Utah Bankers Association. He has been a member of the Morgan Lion’s Club for over 51 years and served as president twice. He also served on the city council and was Morgan city mayor. 
Gwen worked for the Morgan County assessor and served in many LDS ward and stake callings. 
She is a member of the Culturettes Club, the Beta Literary Club and South Morgan DUP. Together they served as guest service missionaries on Temple Square as well as an LDS mission to Singapore. They have enjoyed traveling and continue being active with church and family activities. They are part-time snow birds spending time in St. George during the winter. 
Their children and spouses are Jan and Brad Roll, Paula (deceased), Kami Marriott, Jill and Bryan Judd and Clay and Rhonda Francis. They have 26 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren.
