Morgan High School’s Academic Decathlon team placed first at region this year!! They attended their regional meet on February 3rd and 4th at Westminster College to compete against all of the other high school AcaDec teams in the state.

This competition consists of ten tests ranging from speeches, interviews, and essays to social science and music categories. The nine students on the team from Morgan High won forty-seven of the ninety medals awarded at the end of the competition, trumping both of their rivals, Park City and Duchesne.

Bingham High School took second place and Alta High School received third place, neither team being a match for our very own Morgan High School. The nine students on Morgan’s team are Hunter Bohman, Camille Wheatley, Natasha Andersen, Jacob Walker, Trevor Heath, Tyson Wheelwright, Chapman White, Katie Seely, and Tyler Kippen who was the overall individual high scorer of the competition earning a whopping 7,100 points with 10,000 possible.

These students all worked hard and did a fabulous job representing Morgan High School but definitely couldn’t have done it without their magnificent coach Mrs. Morrison.
