In celebration of her 90th birthday, Fern P. Carter of Morgan will be honored by her family at an open house on Saturday, April 9, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the LDS church building in Porterville. Everyone is invited to attend. No gifts please.
Fern was born on April 6, 1921 in Porterville, Morgan, Utah. She was the fourth of five children born to Franklin and Emma Porter. She has lived in Porterville most of her life. She is now a resident of The Family Tree in Morgan.
She married Ralph S. Carter December 13, 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She worked at Carter’s Cafe’, the Morgan County Library, and the Morgan County Clerk and Record’s Offices. Most of her life has been spent as a wife and mother in the home as she raised nine children.
She was active in the LDS Church and has held many positions. In 1989, Mom and Dad served a mission in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania Mission.
Her children and their spouses are Paul and Vanna Carter, Vaughn and Carolee Carter, Carl and Shirley Dearden, Frank and Carla Carter, Paul and Julie Johnson, Bob and Elaine Barton, Randy and RaNae Stevenson, Lee and Jeannie Carter, and Michael and Lisa Kelly.
They have 44 grandchildren, and 91 great-grandchildren. They also have two great-great grandchildren and two more on the way.
