60th Anniversary - Twain and Shirley Carter

Twain and Shirley Carter will celebrate their 60th Wedding Anniversary. All family and friends are welcomed to an Open House on Saturday March 19, 2011 at the Morgan LDS Stake Center, 355 North 700 East, Morgan, Utah, from 1 - 3 p.m.

They were married in The Salt Lake Temple on March 16, 1951.

Twain was born December 28, 1929 in Porterville, Utah to Parley and Norma Carter. He graduated from Morgan High School. 

After serving in the US Army, he was a repairman for the Devils Slide Cement Plant (Holcim) and retired after 43 years of service.

Shirley was born May 24, 1934 in Evanston, Wyoming to Lin and Helen Taylor. She graduated from North Summit High School. She was employed as a secretary for Farmers Insurance, Morgan City and retired from Wilkinson Construction Co. in 1971.

Together, they are active members of the LDS Church, serving in many capacities. They have served in the Salt Lake Temple Square Service Mission and the Liberty Park Ward Mission. 

They enjoy family gatherings and spending time at their property in the Uinta Mountains.

Their children and spouses are RaVonna and Chuck McQuiddy, Morgan, Delwin and Anita Carter, Morgan, and Lorna and Rick Walker of Clearfield. They have nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
