The 4th of July show must go on

Article Date:
6 June, 2014 (All day)

With all the changes happening within the walls of the Morgan City offices the past few months, one can expect a period of transition.  There have been many misgivings about the 4th of July celebration with all these changes, but Morgan City officials are happy to announce that the show must go on.
This year’s local 4th of July celebration will kick off with a 5K run and kids run sponsored by the Morgan High School cross country team.  This is always a great way for the whole family to start the day together.  The kids always have a great time participating.
The run will be followed by a pancake breakfast hosted by the Morgan High School volleyball team.  These events are great ways for the community to support their local teams and have a lot of family fun at the same time, and the breakfast is always delicious. Tradition will continue with a flag ceremony.  The flag is presented by our local veterans.
Everyone looks forward to the Morgan 4th of July parade.  Kids and adults alike can be seen lining the streets long before any floats make their appearance.  If you are interested in participating in this year’s events, please pick up an application in the Morgan City offices.  The city is also looking for more local vendors to participate in the festivities that follow the parade.
Kids’ games will be offered at Riverside Park alongside the vendor booths, so stick around for more family fun.
The day all builds up to the fantastic 4th of July entertainment being presented in the premier Morgan’s Got Talent event.  Local Morgan faces will grace the stage with their energy and skill to add to the fun before the fireworks explode in the night sky.
Bring the whole family for a fun-filled event.
