Article Date:
9 March, 2012 (All day)

Whitney Morgan, daughter of Christopher and Cori Morgan, was chosen as Morgan High School’s 2011-2012 Music Sterling Scholar!

Whitney has received seven superior ratings at State Solo & Ensemble and Flute Federation combined. She has also earned her place as first chair in Symphonic Band for three consecutive years and currently teaches flute lessons.

Naturally, Whitney’s favorite class at the high school is Band. Besides being a member of the Pep Band and Symphonic Band, she is also a member of FCCLA, National Honor Society, the Morgan Youth Service Interact Club, and the girls’ basketball and tennis teams at Morgan High.

Whitney has held the leadership positions of Junior Class Vice President, the girls’ basketball team captain, the flute section leader as a junior and senior, and currently serves the student body as SBO Historian.

Her favorite part of high school was helping to plan the Junior Prom and seeing the success it was as she attended the promenade and dance. Whitney’s hobbies include playing her flute, cake decorating, playing sports, reading, and crocheting.

She sincerely enjoyed the time she was able to play her flute at Primary Children’s Hospital and donate over 40 hats she had crocheted for them. After graduating from Morgan High School Whitney plans to go on to Utah State University in the fall.
