Article Date:
2 March, 2012 (All day)

Madison Sunday, daughter of Steve and Karen Sunday, was chosen as this year’s Social Science Sterling Scholar! Madison founded the Morgan Youth Service Interact Club, which works closely with the national Rotary Club, her junior year and attended Girls’ State, run by the American Legion Auxiliary, at Southern Utah University last summer.

Madi has been a part of the girls’ soccer team, the Debate team, FBLA, FCCLA, National Honor Society, and the Morgan Youth Service Interact Club at Morgan High School. Being a strong leader, she serves as FCCLA Vice President of Membership, FBLA Public Relations, the Morgan Youth Service Interact Club President, a member of Seminary Council, and a member of the Scholarship Board.

Madison’s favorite classes at Morgan High have been AP European History, Psychology, and any Art class. Her favorite experience in high school was organizing the Morgan Youth Service Interact Club. She enjoys making a difference in the school and community as well as bringing people with a common cause to serve together.

Madi loves all of the service projects she participates in, although the one that stands out to her was the time she took part in a party for the children of the Christmas Box House. Interacting personally with the kids and making a difference in their lives was what made the experience unique and memorable to her.

In her free time Madi enjoys painting, reading, and spending time with friends. After graduating high school, Madison plans to continue her studies at Brigham Young University.
